Online Peer Exchange 2: Employee Resource Groups
Our second Peer2Peer exchange session will look at the topic of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). ERGs are a growing presence in organisations, creating networks of employees with shared experiences, characteristics or goals. They have been greeted with varying degrees of support relating to whether they are viewed as inclusive or exclusive groups affecting positive or negative impact.
- Are members encouraging and supporting the creation of ERGs and with what level of control or guidance?
- Where ERGs are present who is accountable for the activities and outcomes of the network and are they perceived as a positive development for employee advocacy, education or change?
- Are ERGs having any evidenced impact on business and reward strategy?
- If they don’t exist in your organisation should you be encouraging of their creation and what are the risks?
For this Peer2Peer exchange we will have a discussion with an adviser on ERGs before hearing from a member who has in depth experience of ERGs in their organisation. We will then open the forum to members to exchange their insights, experience and questions about the value, management and outcomes of ERGs.
