Zoom Interactive Event: Thriving After a Crisis – Diverting Danger and Creating Future-proof Organisations

10 July 2020

12:00 - 1:00pm BST

Henry Ford observed, after the 1930s depression, that “most people get ahead during the time that others waste”. But what differentiates those that not only survive a crisis but come out of it with advantages over their competitors? Our speakers have carried out extensive research on how leaders seize opportunities during a crisis. Those who are most successful ‘leap’ – they increase autonomy without sinking the organisation into chaos, they pursue new business opportunities when resources have to be preserved, and they rapidly pivot and recover when everyone else falls on the sidelines.

Professors Mark and Howard both from IMD Business School, will explain how successful corporate leaders have built the organisational ecosystems – culture, mindset, structures, systems and processes – that enabled them to thrive during and after a crisis. Like all crises before it, this one will bring opportunities. Seizing them will make the difference between getting ahead and simply surviving.
