Keeping up to date with Issues in Senior Executive Pay:

Breakfast Briefing

Date:
18th September 2008, 8.30 am – 10.30 am

Venue:
Deloitte & Touche

Speaker
Carol Arrowsmith, Deloitte & Touche LLP

The Issue:

The subject of senior executive pay occurs frequently in PARC meetings and discussions concerning a number of aspects, and continues to feature regularly in the business sections of the media. The executive pay scene is constantly evolving and controversies come and go!

PARC members will be aware that we are scheduling a major research project through 2008 to examine practices in the performance management process for senior executives which are often intended to underpin the reward process.

Members will also recall that, in early-2006, we conducted an in-depth research study on the role and activities of Board Remuneration Committees, which was quite critical in some of its conclusions. Further copies of this report may be obtained from the PARC office.

The Breakfast Briefing:

As a preamble to the November meeting on performance management, we have invited Carol Arrowsmith to lead a Breakfast Briefing which will look at current developments and trends in senior executive pay.

Many members know Carol, a leading executive compensation consultant who has been sought to resolve a number of the more controversial situations in which large companies have found themselves.

In the discussion, she will reflect on some of her experiences from such cases as well as providing an update on executive pay issues. Members can look forward to a well-informed session based on her espected and forthright views.
